So says Gartner, in a recent research report. Here is what it says about Mashups and composite apps:

By 2010, Web mashups will be the dominant model (80 percent) for the creation of composite enterprise applications. Mashup technologies will evolve significantly over the next five years, and application leaders must take this evolution into account when evaluating the impact of mashups and in formulating an enterprise mashup strategy

The report identifies 10 Strategic Technologies for 2008, which identifies Mashups/Composite apps, along with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Social Software and “Real World Web”.

You can read the report here.

What’s interesting is that they are talking about Mashups making inroads into enterprise - I said interesting because there are not too many firms out there who have started thinking seriously about mashups yet. Gartner also has published a report on “Who’s Who in Enterprise Mashups” here, however you gotta pay for this document to read it :(
